Sports Specific Training

Looking for sports specific training for yourself or your child? Lets understand where it starts

In simple language, sports-specific training is a physical program designed to improve performance in your actual sport.
In Scientific language, You do exercises, movements, and train energy systems that match what your sport actually demands.
So when you spend that extra hour for fitness, what you do in that hour decides performance.

Most people train HARD; Very few train RIGHT

Train for your sport; Not just for fitness

Typical Fitness Routine

Leg Day Chest Day Random Circuits Abs Workout

Outcome? Good for general fitness But do not transfer to performance.

Sports Specific training should start with strong foundation first followed by specifics

E.g. Before focusing on tennis forehand power, or cricket bat speed, or football agility, or badminton vertical jump, the body must be trained for

Movement Mechanics Mobility & Stability Foundational Strength Core Control Landing & Deceleration Speed & Agility Base
This Phase is non-negotiable, especially for growing children. Without this base, sport training quickly leads to injuries, burnout and plateaus.

The Heart of Sports Specific Training: Need Analysis

Need Analysis = Understanding what the athlete’s sport demands + what the athlete’s body can do currently. Then filling the gap between the two.

  1. What does this sport need physically? (speed? power? endurance? rotation? balance? jumping? lunges? etc.)
  2. What does this athlete currently have? (strength level, mobility, movement quality, fitness, injury history etc.)
  3. What needs to be trained right now to improve performance safely?(no two athletes will have the same plan, not even from the same sport)

And, that is how you make training effective and injury-safe.
